Party in the Park - Saturday, Aug 19, BCRR volunteers were at Memorial Park for the HARRA Party in the Park. The team enjoyed the music, refreshments, seeing all the other running clubs, and meeting LOTS of passersby. Learn more here.
Run. Yoga. Beer. Breakfast. - About 45 people joined the fun Saturday, July 29, for fun run and social at Benny Thunders in the Heights. Runs of 3, 5, and 7 miles, were followed by yoga, breakfast, and beer! Learn more HERE.
GLOBAL RUNNING DAY - The club celebrated Global Running Day Run & Alumni Night, Wednesday, June 7, at Rice campus with a post-run event at Valhalla. Despite the rain, a good time was had by all. Details on Calendar.
AWARDS BANQUET - The BCRR Awards Banquet was Wednesday, May 24, at W Alabama Ice House. The club celebrated the running year with some great food, drinks, and fun! SEE SLIDE SHOW PRESENTATION HERE.
BOARD ELECTIONS - May 24, at W Alabama Ice House, the club elected a new board of directors. CONGRATULATIONS to the 2023-2024 board elect: Pres. Kathleen M., VP Steve H., Sec. David P., Treasurer Robert S., and At Large Members: Joel D., June H., and Anna H.
TIME CHANGE - Sunday (3/12) was the "spring forward" 1 hour for Daylight Saving Time date. We hope everyone is up to speed.

Pasta Loading Party - Nearly 20 BCRR members broke bread together to load up on carbs at the club's pasta dinner party, Thursday, January 12 at Spaghetti Western. Watch the Calendar and BCRR Facebook for the next great gettogether!

John's Looooong Run - About 30 brave souls tested their metal Sunday, Dec 18, at the club's 21-mile marathon warm-up run. Special thanks to the many volunteers that made this event possible!
Holiday Lights Run - The club's annual evening run enjoying the lights in River Oaks was held Wednesday, Dec 14. See Map. Afterwards, many runner went Kenneally's Irish Pub for more fun.
Happy Hour Change-up - Friday, Nov 11, the club tried out a new twist on happy hour. The usual HH shenanigans were held at the Bayou City Resale Shop! The fun included wine, beer, burgers, hotdogs, cookies, and a giant tent that blew out into the street to surprise motorist! Join our next happy hour and see what happens!
Alex 5K - Beautiful weather on Saturday, Nov 5, 2022, and wonderful volunteers helped make this year's event a success. Visit the club's Facebook page for lots of fun pictures from the LIVE event!
Houston Half After Party - Right after the Houston Half Marathon longtime BCRR members Paul and Sue Schultz will host a party at their home near Rice Village. RSVP and details HERE for this free event!
Group Runs Update - As the COVID concern lingers, the BCRR Board is holding off on most indoor activities. However, outdoor runs and events are open (with social distancing and mask where appropriate). Watch Facebook and club emails for updates.
Annual Banquet - Friday, Oct 7, 2022, the club tried out a new location for the BCRR Annual Banquet. The gang gathered at West Alabama Ice House for a celebration of friends and fun, running and recognition. For news on the next get together, stay tuned to the weekly email or our Facebook page.

Board Elections - BCRR held a club meeting Wednesday, July 13, to vote for board members to serve the 2020-2023 season. Results will be announced shortly. In addition to board member positions, BCRR has many roles for other volunteers. Contact any board member for details.
Bayou Bash Relay - Saturday, 4/30, we held the Bayou Bash Relay IRL at TC Jester Park. THANK YOU to all the runners and volunteers!
Holiday Party - Did you make it? Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, the club held a IRL holiday party and it was fabulous! Dozens of club members and friends gathered to celebrate the season and enjoy the Chipotle food, signature cocktails, homemade cookies and live music!

Party in the Park - HARRA’s annual Party in the Park was held Saturday, August 14, 2021. Houston's running community came together to showcase their clubs and offer the public bagels, watermelon and drinks. Susan Cita lead a team of volunteers and thank you to them and all that came out to visit!
Dash & Splash - The latest BCRR pool party was at Chuck and Cheryl's place on August 11, 2021 after the Wednesday run. See the calendar and Facebook for details.

Memorial Day Mile - The BCRR Memorial Day Mile was a safe mile completed on May 25, 2020. Results were submitted and winners recognized in several categories, including best dressed!
BCRR Virtual 5K - Miss the fun of racing? Join the BCRR Virtual 5K and compete for fun and glory online! Run a 5K between May 1 and May 5, 2020. Then submit results HERE. Join the BCRR Strava Event to keep an eye on your competition!
The Bayou City Classic cancelled, Texas' oldest 10K race, previously scheduled for March 14, 2020, was cancelled due to coronavirus concerns. The event organizers apologized for any inconvenience.
Sunday Funday at April Murphy's Studio - We celebrated the end of marathon training with a Sunday Funday, on Jan. 5, 2020 at April Murphy’s Art Studio (2020 Houston Marathon arist!). BCRR provide pizza, and visitors were invited to BYOB.
Tent Lost - The BCRR club tent is missing. If you can recover it, you can claim a cash reward! The tent has BCCR and Alex5K logos on it. Send recovery info to christinabcrr@gmail.com.

Space City 10K - The Space City 10 Miler was a big success! Several BCRR members earned medal on the scenic course around the UH Clear Lake area. Up next, the Houston Half!
Mellow Monday Scrabble Run - On June 25 our "Mellow Monday" run turned into a Scrabble game/run. Participants running the Memorial Park loop collected Scrabble tiles from BCRR board members along the way and then used the letters to spell out words for top honors. Two dozen members joined the fun and celebrated with refreshments at the finish! Visit the Facebook page for pictures.

BCRR Family Picnic - On April 8 BCRR's annual spring family picnic returned. The festivities took place at the Presidential Palace! BCRR Board members worked the grill serving up burgers and hot dogs. Members brought side dishes and desserts. And everyone joined in the games.
BCRR Expands Social Media Reach - The club has long been know for the popular BCRR Facebook page, but now members have additional ways to stay in touch online. Thanks to volunteers Christina and Dan, the club is now active on INSTAGRAM and TWITTER. Check them out today!
BCRR Alumni Night at Valhalla
We don't see some members very often, and we miss you! Come back and join us for refreshments at Valhalla on Rice campus the FIRST Wednesday evening of each month is "Alumni Night" at Valhalla! (See calendar for details.)
