HARRA Race Series Debate:
Fall Series very expensive
Hard for most average person to participate due to pricing: Have to choose which races are worth the fee.
Grass roots recruiting for new members. Hi how are you, wanna join a club?
Direct questioning for members who like to race. Will you run …… for club points.
Courses are same ole same ole for established members of running scene there is no incentive to keep running same courses over and over.
Age is a factor, injuries, and lifestyle course of events. As we age our priorities lay differently each year.
Burn out factor
Subsidize race entry fees (would need more race management income to support this idea)
Good ole Lisa Thompson wants to the club to think larger scale; perhaps start our own Half Marathon. Grass Roots approach; with a twist; super cheap; Cross between BCClassic and Medoc! Half the price of most Half Marathon Entry fees. Still a certified course; and still serious enough for competition between local clubs etc; Long term goal Harra Fall/Spring Series race.
