Board Meeting Minutes - September 2, 2008

Approve Minutes
The minutes from the meeting of August 5, 2008 were approved without comment. It was also agreed that the Board Meeting Minutes will be posted on the BCRR website.
Newsletter
Eddie noted that the August newsletter was well received by the members.
Mike provided a handout outlining the contents of the September newsletter. The handout is attached. Patrick agreed to write an article for the Party in the Park. Eddie suggested that Jay Hendrickson be contacted for photos from the Party in the Park.
Mike mentioned that Bonnie Jo Barron will write an article on the half marathon for the October newsletter. Patrick offered to write a before and after article for his upcoming Utah Marathon for the October and November newsletters, respectively.
Finances
Patrick noted that this has been a quiet financial month. We have had a small number of folks pay their dues; our outlay has been very limited as well.
Patrick will send a reminder to those who still owe dues for 2008-2009.
Parties
Sue and Allen will again host the 25K party and Chuck and Cheryl will host the Marathon party. April will coordinate the Christmas celebration. She is looking for a new place, since the Cadillac Bar has changed hands and raised prices. The Half Marathon is still open. Eddie will look for a “volunteer.”
September 10th will be Virgos do Valhalla and September 17th will be a Dash & Splash at Chuck and Cheryl’s.
Clothing
Ron and June discussed the clothing orders. The singlets are now in. Ron will contact Raymond at Finish Strong Sports regarding the order placed there. 50 T-shirts of various sizes will be ordered through June. A tattoo order will also be placed. Eddie will contact Gail about ordering SmartIDs.
Relay Team Coordinator
Mark Fraser will be the relay team coordinator. Neeraj will provide a breakdown of the membership roster by gender and age groups.
Marathon Kickoff
Board members are asked to come by 5 p.m. We will have purple polo shirts for the Board members so that it will be easy for visitors to our tent to recognize us should they have any questions.
