Mellow Monday Turns Scrabble Run
Monday, Oct 7, the "Mellow Monday" run becomes a Scrabble game/run. Members of the club's Board of Directors will be scattered around the Memorial Park loop handing out Scrabble tiles as you pass. Complete the 3 mile loop and use your letters to assemble the highest scoring word for a prize! Prize winning word or not, all participants will enjoy refreshments at the finish! The fun starts at 7 PM. See calendar for details.
Fall Trip - Club members searching for cooler temps went to Santa Fe for the Santa Fe Thunder Half-Marathon & 5K on Sunday, September 15th.
Christmas Party - Did you miss it? Each December we gather at the Modern B&B for a light dinner and ugly sweater party. Our holiday soiree features great food, great drinks, and great PEOPLE! Guests dress up in festive attire, or "favorite" ugly Christmas sweaters. Festivities include a signature cocktail, dinner, and the holiday baking battle of sweet treats!
The BCRR Awards Banquet, held at St. Arnold’s Brewery in May, is a wonderful night of fun, food, and friendship. The club recognized outstanding achievements, special volunteers, and selects new board members. If you missed it this year, read the BCRR Birdfeed blog to learn all about it.
BCRR Prom - For something a little different, the club held our first ever prom night. Everyone supported the theme “Dress Your Decade” by wearing the styles from their original prom back in the day. The dance party was held at the Modern B&B and featured a night full of throwback jams and fabulous dresses!

Apres Run ...Every Wednesday evening we meet at Rice University for Sprints and Spirits. The group meets at 6:15 pm (run leaves at 6:30 pm sharp!).The Bayou Run (6.6 miles) is the usual route but there are shortcuts and alternative routes as well. All levels are welcome. And the best part is the cheap beer at Valhalla , a delightfully casual and economical watering hole, afterwards. There is always a group that goes out for dinner as well. Come on out! It's a great way to break up the stressful work week.
