How many miles a week do you run? During the running season, 30-40 miles/week, during the triathlon season, 20-30 miles/wk.
How did you come to join Bayou City?: My best friend, Jill Devay, told me that BCRR was "the place" to meet great people...and she was right!
My favorite training run is: Huntsville.
My favorite race is: Martindale Triathlon...6 mile kayak, 7.5 mile run, 18 mile bike.
My best distance is: 20k and half-marathon.
My proudest running accomplishment is: finishing my first complete mile after ACL replacement surgery in 1997.
I run because: It's faster than walking.
My philosophy for life is: Finish what you start.
My next goal is: Ironman World Championship, Hawaii.
The top thing on my dream list is: To not have to work so I could garden, swim, bike and run every day.
Other hobbies besides running: Cycling, swimming, gardening.
I would love to spend the day with: My children and my fiance, Jack.
Favorite training food: Watermelon...a close second is champagne and strawberries.
People would be surprised if they knew I: Love to cook.
The most embarrassing thing that has happened to me is: Being a "looper" years ago.
When I'm running I think about: Running, how I feel, form, breathing, relaxing.
The best running advice I could give would be: Left, right, left, right, left, right, left, right, left, right, left, right, and so on.
The most profound thing that has happened in my life is: Having two fantastic children: Richie 23, a recent graduate of HBU and Jamie 21, a senior at University of Hawaii.
