BCRR Road
Trips
BCRR Road Trip to
Baton Rouge (February 10, 2012,
6PM): Keep
the Pace 5K & Walk
is in Baton Rouge
on Friday, February 10th at 6:00 pm. We will
probably get a group together to make the road
trip and stay that night before returning on
Saturday. The race information is here.
Last time, we stayed at the La
Quinta in Baton Rouge. It's fairly low
cost and close to LSU. If you wish to stay the
night, please make reservations on your own.
Beach to Bay Marathon
Relay (May 19, 2012):
In prep for BCRR's annual road trip and weekend
get-away, Cheryl Verlander is
putting together a 60+ women's team for the
relay. She would very much like to have
commitments by the end of January for those who
would like to participate. Anyone who wishes to
be a part of this team can contact her at caverlander@gmail.com.
Summer
Runaway (June 3,
2012): The Olympic
Pennisula. We will run the
The North Olympic Discovery Marathon,
which goes from Sequim to Port
Angeles, WA., and also spend a few days enjoying
the area. If you are interested go to www.nodm.com and
www.portangeles.org for
info about the races. Lorna
Greenway is organizing the
trip so contact her for
more details..
Ongoing Social
Hour(s)
Apres Run ...Every Wednesday
evening we meet at Rice University for Sprints
and Spirits. The group meets at 5:45 pm (run
leaves at 6 pm sharp!).The Bayou
Run (6.6 miles) is the usual
route but there are shortcuts
and alternative
routes as well.. All levels
are welcome. And the best part is the cheap
beer at Valhalla
, a delightfully casual and economical
watering hole, afterwards. There is
always a group that goes out for dinner as well.
Come on out! It's a great way to break up the
stressful work week.
